SubWay - Sub Standard Food

After a long time(Almost 3 years) I went to Subway(Indiranagar), was really hungry and wanted to eat some Veg and non-veg lunch. I selected what I wanted to eat on the net so that I don't wast time selecting it there. I wanted to eat Chicken, Turkey and roasted lamb sub. When we reached there Lamb was not there in the menu, so I decided to eat Chicken and Turkey sub instead. It looked big and good, but my first bite reveled a hair in it. I did not make a fuss of it and informed the guys of it, they gave me another sub, but just as was about to finish it I found another hair. This totatly put me off. I complained to the guys there but they ignored it and looked at me as if I had put it in it.

It was just not me, my friend who is a hardcore vegi found a chicken feather in his Veg-Sub. I can understand a piece of chicken, BUT a chicken feather? Thats not acceptable to a non-vegi let alone and veg guy. So my friend decided to call the outlet manager (Sanjay Bajaj). The only thing he kept repeating was it will not happen again, but now since it has happened he can't do anything about it. Thats for quality control. Have posted the pics of the Sub too(one with hair). Forgot to take pics of the one with chicken feather.

I had been to Manchinbele last week, its a reservoir created by a small dam surrounded by small hills. Its decent place for day out with friends and close to city, its approx 45 km from Bangalore on Mysore road. One has to leave early though or you might get stuck in traffic within the city limits. People who have been there before say early morning is a good time for bird watching... did see some birds but did not have a good camera.

We carried along some food with us and also a charcoal grill and lost of chicken. Turned out to be good as there is nothing you can do their you need some activity to be going. It was fun lighting up the coal(almost took us 45 min) as non of us do it regularly. The chicken was marinated over night and turned out to be really juicy and tasty when cooked. the recipe too was an experiment and also a little bit of help from our Mommy's at home. Recipe was simple

We used some off the shelf Tandoori masala, Turmeric powder, Ginger,Garlic and salt to taste.

Chicken 4 Kgs
Garlic - 200 gms
Ginger - 200 gms
Turmeric powder

Make garlic ginger past, add turmeric and about 50-60gms of tandoori masala and mix well with chicken, add salt to taste, leave it over night in the fridge do not put in the freezer.

Next day light up your charcoal grill, and it won't long to eat your juicy chicken.

Though the dam is close to the city, it is quite secluded and doesn't look safe for couples planing an outing...its always good to go in a group. Villagers might drop in asking for some food or money.

You might find couple of cops standing at just before a turn leading to the dam and might stop you going there... looked like they just wanted to make some money... we didn't pay though just drove in. Cops don't seem to there to help people rather want to make some quick bucks.

The drive from Wonder la to the dam is quite picturesque and green, you would enjoy it, try not to drive fast as the roads are narrow you might never now, there could be Kidd's running around in the next corner.

Some tips that would be handy

DO NOT try to swim in the waters until are an expert in it as there is no one to rescue.
Though there are hills surrounding the reservoir there are no shady trees...it was lush green when we visited as its a rainy season.
Carry sun screen lotion along
Sun Glass
Food,beverages and fresh water to drink, you won't find these there.(Believe me carry a grill along it awesome to cook and eat, the chicken doesn't taste better than this)
Go in a group
Need to answer nature call in the nature.

Trip to Chennai

Had been to Chennai couple of weeks back for BD meetings, love to go for these meetings, love to make presentations, love the feeling that it might generate new business... BUT the journey this time wasn't pleasant at all.

It started with a mild surprise, my ticket was booked on a Sangeetha Volvo for a bus leaving at 11:30 pm, my friend came to drop me at the bus stop and while waiting for the bus we went into a chat about our conquests, goof ups and how to avoid getting into a marriages... didn't know how time went by, it was 11:45 and no sign of a any bus, then a bus came in called SEA BIRD and the conductor started shouting Chennai...Chennai...Chennai, since it wasn't from Sangeetha travels we continued chatting, but soon realized that we were alone there all other people waiting for bus to Chennai are gone are gone, just thought, let me enquire with SEA BIRD just in case... and guess what he said "Sir this is a bus from Sangeetha travels" just took two step back and checked the bus to see if I had missed to read Sangeetha (my boss complains I miss out on details sometimes) but I was sure even he wouldn't find it. I didn't know when Sangeetha travels changed to SEA BIRD travels, I boarded the bus said my friend good by and started looking for my seat... there it was, a window seat I looked up for a place to keep my bag as I kept it and walked towars my seat... woaooo...awa...it was the worst odor one could come across, it was like thousand world war II soldiers removing the show after 5 years of war...add to that the snoring of a man in the seat behind, it sound like someone has serious constipation...add to that a boring movie that was on.
All my three senses were under attack, this was only bus journey I made with a hand kirchief tied around my nose for the entire journey.
Overall it was a good trip though...

At last I have my blog back, I used to maintain this blog and had also bought a domain name for the same. Unfortunately or ultimately or as it should have happened the domain name expired and so did my blog with it. I have been thinking of reviving it for some time now, some fond memories are associated with it and at last its back.

It happend on 16/02/2008. It was really awesome, ok I am writting it a little late but then if you see my past post they have been copy past's. You see I just can't get myself to write when I don't feel like and most of the time I don't. Coming back to the topic, it happend in Microsoft Bangalore. I met so many different kinds of people who are passionate about writing some very pasionate about the topics they write. One guy who stood out was comradechakra with his stories about red panties and sex on A380, this guy had amazing sense of humor ( not just b'cause he spoke about red panties and sex) . I can't discribe it but it was kinda subtle, kinda humor at which our Sidhu won't laugh at ( you see it won't penetrate deep enough INTO HIS HEAD)
Note: It won't penetrate deep enough, Not because of his turban.

Then there were guys who had fatwa against them for writing some posts I think he was a guy from mutiny . Though he din't say what he wrote about to earn the fatwah. I did try to find some inflammatory post in that blog by putting in some nasty words in search, but I gave up.

Then there was this guy from Lead cap I think his name was Sandeep. Though he was passionate about leadership and we as nation should produce more leaders, stuff like that. I agree he is doing something good, but some how it didn't create the impact.

We also had to introduce ourself one by one. At first I thought its gona be same boring thing that we did in our school days when a new teacher replaces the old one. But it turned out to be fun as they spoke about their blogs and what they write. One guy also gave suggestion that we should compansate the Auto walas with some money every month by putting adds on the Autos so that they don't charge us extra. Atleast he was thinking of doing somthing to put and end to the trouble bangloreans face with transport. But I din't really agree with his suggestion ( I'll write why some other day).

Their were lots interesting people there, but now I am running out of patience ( I already spent some time figuring out what the spelling of patience is. I had to Google it) to write bout them.
Many people tell me to use MS word to check spellings, but I always find solace in Google when I am connected to the net.

Club issues warning to British pensioner for farting

LONDON (AFP) - A British pensioner has been ordered out of his local social club for breaking wind too loudly, which "disgusted" fellow members, media reports said Wednesday.

Maurice Fox, 77, received a letter from Kirkham Street Sports and Social Club in Paignton, south-west England, about his overly-audible flatulence, asking him to go outside when necessary.

"It's only a little bit of wind -- it doesn't really hurt anyone. I sit by the door anyway and try to get out when I can. But sometimes it takes me by surprise and just pops out," he said, quoted by The Guardian daily.

"I think someone has complained about the noise. I am a loud farter, but there is no smell," he added, noted that "there is no smell at all since I gave up the cider and started on the Bass (a type of beer)."

The letter from the club committee confirmed that others had been disturbed.

"After several complaints regarding your continual breaking of wind (farting) while in the club, would you please consider that your actions are considered disgusting to fellow members and visitors," it said.

"You sit close to the front door, so would you please go outside when required. So please take heed of this request," it added.

Fox -- who said he gets no complaints at another nearby club he attends two days a week -- voiced surprise that he had received no oral warning before the written complaint.

But he admitted they had a point. "I do not think it is unreasonable, you get ladies in there," he said.

"The ladies find it a bit rude but the men have a chuckle. My wife died seven years ago and I live on my own so I might have lost a few social graces. But I was surprised to get the letter from the committee."

Nigerian police are investigating a bizarre claim that a boy has been turned into a yam by a witchdoctor, the Daily Star claims.

Officers have even taken a large yam into custody.

Three schoolboys in Maiduguri told their headteacher their friend had been transformed into a vegetable in front of their eyes after accepting a sweet from a stranger.

As word spread about the schoolboy yam, hundreds of curious people began flocking to the police station to catch a glimpse of it.

Creators Syndicate - A team of genetic scientists stunned the world today by revealing that President George W. Bush may lack the gene necessary for human speech.The scientists, who had been studying the genetic differences between humans and chimps, made the discovery about the president almost by accident, a spokesman for the group said.

"We happened to be looking at the blood work from the president's recent physical," said the spokesman, Dr. Alvin Kunen of the University of Minnesota. "We found extremely high potassium levels, indicating a banana-rich diet rarely found in humans."

Prompted by the banana clue, scientists probed the president's DNA further and found "no evidence" of the gene that enables humans to speak.

From the White House, the president had no comment.

But even as some in the administration angrily questioned the scientists‚ findings — arguing that the president often said things — Dr. Kunen said that many non-human primates were capable of producing basic, "speech-like" utterances.

"In our experiments, we were able to teach a female baboon named Bonny to say such things as 'tax cut,' 'evildoer' and 'regime change,'" Dr. Kunen said. "This should not be confused with actual human speech."

In a related finding, the scientists said that former President Bill Clinton possessed an "abnormal double-gene" for human speech, meaning that it was "virtually impossible to get him to shut up."

Clinton's DNA was culled during his second term in office, when the former president's genetic material was widely disseminated.

Last time we went in a nice bus, din't have a bike then.This time I have a nice bike.But I din't take it I went on friends Bike.
We were 7 of us.

Two friends

After long time I found 2 good friends at ML ,Thanuja and Bhargav.I share a good frequency with them.Atleast they under stand what i speak.
Both of them are crazy ,brainless people.All they know it bunking huddels and chit chating.
I'll explain how they are,

Bhargav---> He wanted off so,he deviced a plan.One day he said his mom that he would go upstairs to get the cloths.Then tried to come down hoping on one leg ,then lifted that leg also and he fell down,he was very happy that he broke his hand and would get a week off from his office .Then he went to the doctor to get a medical certificate .But the doctor said that its just a fracture.
Bhargav was heart broken,he came to office and had to do floor walk all day.This made him more angry and determined .Next day he took an off,he told his mom that he wanted the to get the cloths today aswell,he went up determined than ever before.he poped a banana in his mouth threw the peel in front of and sliped on it.within 5 seconds he was moaning with pain as his hand had swolen up ,the pain was unbareble.But Bhargav happy within ,thinking that no one can stop him from getting a leave.
He went to the doctor confidently,but as soon as doctor saw his hand he said its only a severe sprain and n ot a fracture.This devastated Bhargav ,he had no strenght left in for a third try.
He resinged to his fate and came to office with a big bandage on his hand.

Moral of the story:Nothing happen before it suppose to happen.

I am gettin bugged in office now ,with nothing to do and my friend just mentioned he is takin a half day on monday.Hez goin for the Mark konfler concert .Good to know that he got the permission BY TELLING THE TRUTH.I just thought wat if they had not got the permission,wat excuse would have they have givin .Lets list wat excuse they could give or if v want leave wat excuse can v give.

1) Ok for this one u need some planning and preparation.Like a....... if u wana leave on monday u should start prepairing for it from saturday.Do not take bath on saturday and sunday ,drink a lot also do not take bath on monday aswel.Don't where flashy cloths on monday where the dullest ,oldest stuff u have.when u entre the office do not say Hi sweety ,hello dude n all those crape.Keep a face as though no one has potatoes since 2 days.Sit for an hour or two ,then go to your manager and tell him u r not well since past 2 days but still managed to come to office ,but can't continue any more and wana go home seeing your condition your manager will definatly let u go .Advantage off this is "U GET A LEAVE BUT ,STILL NOT MARKED ABSENT".

If u think the first idea wont work there ,here is nother one "only for the brave hearts and those who would go to any lengths to get a leave

2)OK for this one u can take bath ,but..but...no doing potty on sunday and if u can on saturday also (tat's to much to ask for isnt it ,but depends on one's capabilty and WILL power ).

Since my dad was in the Indian Army we have been to almost all corners of the country and have lots of fond memories,but non so vivd as the one in siliguri .I guess its the first time I fell for a girl in 7th standard .There was this girl called Niti ,she was well... prity atleast to me .It was couple of months that I had a crush on her and one day I decide to confess it to her .Mid-term exams were on ,English was the first one I finished my paper thinking i'll get out of the class soon and wait for her .I pulled out my cycle from the parking lot and stood near the gate waitng for her ,I thought i'll confess to her and take her home on my cycle.Well she did come near the gate spoke to me and also went boarded her bus and went away .This continued for the next 2 days.On the fourth, day I still don't know which jack ass told her wat i felt .I was waiting near the gate sitting on my cycle and eating bhel puri and there she was coming with her friend I could sence something is wrong.She comes to and say's "I know wat u wana say".I was in a fix .I asked her"wat".she say's u love me isnt it.I din't have any words to speak.I asked her wat do u think about me .The answer was the regular one liner girls use "I always thought u were like my brother".Thats it my heart sunk in ,it was like end of the world for .without speaking a single word i took my cycle and went awy thinking I already have a elder sister why does god wana give me one more.The next day after my exam as i was eating bhel puri I saw her coming alone .I was shiting bricke thinking she was not done yesterday and is gona scold the hell out off me .I even din't get my cycle so that i could ride away.Then as usal a brilliant idea struck me ,If she scolds me I would tell that I was just joking .She walks up to and say's "yesterday I was just kidding I really like u ".Premptively i spoke out "I was just joking yesterday,I din't mean it". Trying to save herself from embarisment she spoke out "even i am kidding".I realised wat the hell did i speek out I immidetly reverted back saying "no I really like u".Now Niti was in a fix.Unexpectedly she say "really then even I like U.It was such a relife .U can compare it to relife and joy when u've found a toilet after 2 hour off holding it back and then letting it go (u know wat...... I guess wat ever u think).
Thats not the end off it there is still to it.As i have written i used to get my cycle to school,so that once i propose her I would drop her home on my cycle .But that day i didn't get my cycle and she got her cycle .Our house was about 6km from the school.Naturally asked me if i would go on her cycle and I obliged (how could i miss the opportunity).It was a ladies cycle so i couldn't sit on the front bar,"which i would have loved to ....and was also hopping for" any way i sat behind ie on the carrier.Half way down the road about a km she stoped and asked me to ride the cycle since she was tired.I was like "wat the hell i won't ride a ladies cycle wat if my freinds see me ,they are gona laugh at me".I told her "it was u who asked me to come along not the other way round".she replyd "u r the guy u should be riding it ".I told her no way I am gona ride a ladies cycle.I guess she got syked out .she picked up a stone and before i could react it was on my leg and me on the ground .She just left me their in the middle off no where I mean....one would b lucky to even see an Army truck let alone a civilian.I was bleeding and in pain, sitting their tring to hold back my tears.I did wait for some one to pass by but no luck.I had to walk back home 5 kilometers ,limping.I still have that mark.Lucky me ,she didn't throw it on my face.That was the end of my affair .

I am at office n so hungry i guess my kidneys would have been digested by now.The cafeteria sucks too.Just tryin to figure out where do i go to eat.K guess i got to go to the cafeteria no where else to go since i havent got my vehical.

This is my first post actually i got introduced to it by my friends Anwin and Naveen .Thought its a good idea for time pass so here I am blogging .Its a good way to kill time i guess .Since i have lots off it I am a millionare in that sence.
